As a part of Kerala State Library Council, our institution, Vasudeva smaraka vayanasala, Chemmaniyode opens new windows Education, Culture and Social works. We are proud to announce that organization was established in 1958 April 20th.The progress of the library starts by having 24 cent property. In 1978 with the help of Kerala grandhasala sangam a new building and stage was formed.
This organization is not limited to a group or community. Our activities are beyond the limits of riligion. Improving learning habits in the public, allowing facilities for reading newspapers and magazines, making exposure to the subjects which are necessary for human, conducting seminars and workshop with the leading personalities, are some of the activities of this library. We are also engaged in the eradication of illiteracy, art and cultural activities developments of our mother tongue, relief activities and also awareness programs against the liquor and narcotic drugs rackets. Our library possesses a Rural information guidance center, a woman’s wing Children’s wing, Students corner, Computer vedi, $ Sports wing.
We are proud to present before you the details of books. More than 15000 books are available here and of which consist of Reference, Career guidance, Agricultural books and various literary works in Malayalam and English language.N.E.Balaram award for the best village library was awarded to the Vasudeva smaraka vayanasala, Chemmaniyode . State library council permits a model village library in every district, and the Vasudeva smaraka vayanasala, Chemmaniyode is the Model village library in malappuram district. Working of this in progress.Institution has a broad library hall (area132.19 m2), a Conference hall (area132.19 m2) and an office building (area25 m2).
Career guidance center is still functioning since 1996.Couching classes, Special guidance and the collection of career news magazines are great relief for the youngsters. Library council approved rural information center is working here. Phone, Four Computer with Internet connection, which is also opend to the public.Aim of this wing is to improve the involvement of women in all fields. Vanitha magazines are also available here. As a part of this wing we are conducting Awareness classes, Material making classes. About 5000 books and students publications are available for the wing. And also play games like caroms, chess, shot put, discuss throw, throwing plate are also performed by thum. This wing also organizes day celebrations, art festivals, painting, and drama camps.60 magazines. 8 Malayalam and 2 English newspapers are available here.We are conducting the anniversary of this library every year. A procession consisting of the native art forms like thiruvathirakali, dance, drama, was performed during this year.
The members and committe of vasudeva smaraka vayanasala at chemmaniyode in malappuram district are celibrating a special achivement. 2008 is the GOLDEN JUBILEE YEAR of this library. We are decided to celebrate Golden jubilee as a yearlong programme. The Programmes are Seminars, Cultural Functions like Kadhakali ,Oppana ,Thiruvathirakali, Dance, Drama,Kolkkali , Kolattam , Ganamela , Essay compitition . Golden jubilee celebration of our library is conducted with the assistance of RAJA RAMMOHUN ROY LIBRARY FOUNDATION , KOLKATTA.
Still as a village library this institution achieves a great progress beyond our hopes. Support and hard working the whole village is behind this avhivements. We hope that it will be again with us.
